Feng Shui Tips for Home Buyers

Tips for Home Buyers

Whether you are buying to live in yourself , or as an investor, you want to buy wisely. Have you really considered how well your choice will support your financial stability and growth, the effect on your romantic relationship, the quality of your life experience or the stress that can result when you get this wrong?

Understanding some of the basics of the ancient science of Place and Space, Feng Shui will help you in your deliberations.

  1. Look for a property that is elevated up from the street. We feel better when we walk or look up rather than down.
  2. Is the property easy to locate? Can someone with a GPS confidently drive directly there, identify the gate and easily walk to the front door. If not, are you prepared to do whatever is required to make it so?
  3. Be wary of homes where the back and front doors are aligned, the energy is said to come in and immediately leave.
  4. We say that water represents opportunity and abundance. Look for homes where the taps are located on external walls and the water flow is symbolically entering into the home.
  5. Avoid homes that locate the toilet, bathroom or laundry in the centre.  Run away fast!
  6. Avoid homes that are built out over a void.
  7. Bigger is not better when it comes to the bedroom. We say the bigger the bedroom the higher the divorce rate.
  8. Avoid buildings that are very angular and houses where rooms have a corner that protrudes into the room, especially into bedrooms and areas where it’s likely people will spend some time sitting.
  9. Consider the impact of electromagnetic fields, transformers, pylons, sub-stations and mobile phone towers. Don’t stop, do not get out of the car.
  10. What else is in the immediate area? Tall buildings that dwarf the home, Graveyards, Rubbish Disposal or Recycling facilities, Industry that is noisy or smelly?

The above points are some of the items to consider when selecting which house to buy, rarely do we find houses that are absolutely ideal and even when we build, there are usually compromises to be made.
